

The single became a huge hit song in various European countries and sold a million copies. Ramazzotti released his debut album “Cuori Agitate” (Troubled Hearts) with the career single “Una storia importante” (An important story). Ramazzotti joined the highly regarded Sanremo Festival and went home a winner for the “Newcomers” category in the competition, and the song was Europe-wide released. Unfortunately, the song was not successful, but it led him to his mentor Renato Brioschi who provided support and guidance, nurturing Ramazzotti’s talent, leading to his first successful single “Terra promesa” (Promised Land) in 1984. In 1982, Ramazzotti released his first single titled “Ad un amico” (To a Friend). He was blessed with this chance through the vote he received in the finals from Roberto Galanti and Baron Lando Lanni, who was the representative for the new creation of the Italian Label DDD (Drogueria di Drugolo). With a twist of luck, Ramazzotti received his first contract with DDD and moved to Milan. He trained as a bookkeeper but still had his heart set on music.įollowing his dreams, Ramazzotti in 1981 joined the music contest “Voci Nuove di Catrocaro (new voices of Castrocaro Terme), performed his self-written song “Rock 80” in front of various label representatives, and made it to the finals. Though still not losing hope, he went to a profession unrelated to music. With the support and help from his father, Eros wrote songs and tried to gain access to a music conservatory, but unfortunately, he failed the admission examination. As he grew, his passion for music grew with him and while dreaming of a career in music, he began appearing as an extra in some films occasionally. May it be from his father’s influence or be musicians blood but Eros starting playing the guitar at the age of seven.
